If you are ever having to lay in bed for a long time we learned an exercise. Deep breathe in and out 3 times and on the 3rd time you cough 3 times. This exercises the lungs and keeps them clear of guck.

The New Normal
Irene is the name of the Peritoneal nurse. She sat down with me and we learned a few things. She said we need to forget Normal and realize we have a new normal. He is not aloud to shower now for 3 weeks! yikes. Rob says,"I see a sponge bath in your future!" The 15lb rule is so important because with this catheder in his cavity he can easily get a hernia. She also brought up Quads....ya not aloud at all! She said that until he gets a Kidney no Quading. It uses the core muscles just to hold onto the handles not to mention getting stuck! So yet another good reason to find a kidney! Cats are not aloud in a house with him . Dogs are okay but not in the room where we do the exchange. The site has to be kept clean at all costs! (Hair is the issue and the dog getting in the way or distracting) so yet another blessing. Jason developed a cat allergy 6 months ago! So we got rid of the cat! wow.

Tell Jason that I'm sure Alex will be happy to make sure his quad gets maintained. No worries.
Let us know what we can do for you.
You're in out prayers.
